All six branches of Baker County Library District will be closed on Thursday, August 22, for an annual staff training event.  To maintain and build upon the excellent quality of library services offered to the community, this training will empower staff to better assist visitors by providing reviews on critical policies and practices including safety procedures and updates on the latest resources and industry trends.

“The annual staff training day allows us to invest in our team and ensure they are well-equipped to meet the diverse needs of our community,” said Perry Stokes, Library Director at Baker County Libraries.

During the closure, patrons are encouraged to explore the library’s digital resources, including the new Hoopla Digital service offering streaming and download of music, movies, comics and more, and the Libby app with access to thousands of ebooks, e-audiobooks, and magazines.

Baker County Libraries will resume regular operating hours on Friday, August 23, with staff members ready to provide their newly refined expertise to serve the community effectively.

Stokes apologizes for any inconvenience this closure may cause and thanks the community for their understanding and continued support. For more information about the closure, online resources, or the library’s upcoming programs and services, please visit www.bakerlib.org or phone 541-523-6419.
