Try Hoopla Digital - a new streaming service from Baker County Library District!

Human hand touches tablet computer screen to select digital content from Hoopla

Baker County Library District is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of Hoopla Digital, a groundbreaking digital media service, on July 1, 2023. This new addition to our library's offerings will provide patrons with instant access to a vast collection of digital content, including movies, TV shows, music, audiobooks, eBooks, and comics.

Hoopla Digital is a user-friendly platform that enables library users to borrow and stream media content on their preferred devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and computers. With just a library card, patrons will have access to thousands of titles from major publishers and studios, eliminating the need for physical media or waiting lists. This service will be available 24/7, allowing users to enjoy their favorite content anytime, anywhere.

Because the service operates on a Pay-Per-Use (PPU) subscription model, each library account is set for a maximum of four (4) Hoopla borrows per month. This cap is necessary for budget management since the library is charged for each item borrowed, with rates varying between $1.00 - $4.00. On the first day of each month, the borrower allotment will reset to four.

"We are thrilled to introduce Hoopla Digital to our community," said Perry Stokes, Director of Baker County Library District. "With this innovative platform, our patrons will have a wealth of entertainment and educational resources at their fingertips. Hoopla Digital aligns with our mission to provide convenient access to information and enrich the lives of our library users."

Hoopla Digital offers a seamless experience, with no holds, late fees, or advertisements. Patrons will be able to instantly stream or temporarily download content to enjoy offline. The intuitive interface and customizable settings allow users to create personalized playlists and access recommendations based on their preferences.

To access Hoopla Digital, library cardholders will simply need to download the Hoopla app from their device's app store or visit the Baker County Library District website. Once logged in, they can begin exploring the extensive catalog and start borrowing and enjoying their favorite digital content.

The launch of Hoopla Digital reflects the Baker County Library District's commitment to staying at the forefront of technology and providing innovative services to meet the evolving needs of our community. It is yet another step in our ongoing efforts to foster a love for reading, learning, and digital engagement among our patrons.
