Public Votes Invited for Library Big Read Selection

Now is your chance to vote for a favorite book candidate for the library’s “Big Read in Baker”.  A committee has whittled the National Endowment for the Arts Big Read book list down from 27 to a “shortlist” of ten selections.

Just review the book options below and reply to this email with your selection--or submit a ranking of all 10 books at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/7DK5YWJ . Votes are also being taken on paper ballots at the library.

Voting is open until midnight January 20 2013.

The winning title will the focus of a community-wide Big Read event being planned for the upcoming year.  

The Big Read is a program from the National Endowment of the Arts “designed to revitalize the role of literature in American culture and to encourage citizens to read for pleasure and enlightenment.” It provides citizens with the opportunity to read and discuss a single book within their communities.
